It is located within one kilometer of Sylhet city, next to another big tea garden Lakkatura, along the Sylhet airport road. The first commercial tea industry in Bangladesh was started in 1854 with the establishment of Malnicherra Tea Estate in Sylhet, covering an area of 1,500 acres.
